No Spock Likely in Star Trek Sequel

It seems that it is more likely that we have seen the last of Spock Prime. In an interview recently released online Nimoy reports that while he loved the opportunity to do some more work with the Spock character that he likely doesn’t see a role for himself in the future sequels.

I don’t know how I feel about this. On the one hand, JJ Abrams and crew did a great job of establishing the new cast in the last movie, and Zachary Quinto has established that he can do a pretty nasty Spock. Still, I feel a little whispy about seeing old friend Leonard Nimoy in a big screen Trek adventure.

If they do go forward with the new cast solely, I believe that that rules out any possibility that William Shatner will be appearing in any of the movies. I do accept this reality, but feel somewhat sad that we won’t be seeing any more of the original Kirk.
